The Journey

Five days to leave the world behind. From Marrakech to the deep Sahara, this trek traces ancient caravan routes through hidden oases, past the Sidi Naji sanctuary, and into the heart of Erg Zahar. Each night brings a new bivouac, a new landscape, a deeper silence.

Share mint tea with nomadic families, sleep in Tuareg tents, walk alongside dromedaries, and let the desert reshape your sense of time. This is the Sahara as it has been lived for centuries.

Day by Day Program

• Day 1Depart Marrakech toward the desert gate of M'Hamid. Cross the High Atlas via the Tizi n'Tichka pass. Visit the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou. Travel through the Draa Valley. Arrive at the fixed bivouac in the palm grove. First night embraced by the desert calm.
• Day 2Set out with the camel caravan toward the Sidi Naji sanctuary. Cross ancient settlement sites where pottery fragments still tell stories of past civilisations. Lunch under a tree shade with mint tea. Visit the Sidi Naji mausoleum. Evening bivouac between the dunes. Night under the stars.
• Day 3March toward the orange dunes of Erg Zahar. Stop at the former nomadic market. Lunch under a tamarisk. Ascend the magnificent wind-sculpted dunes of Erg Zahar. Panoramic summit views. Bivouac in the heart of the dunes.
• Day 4Sunrise departure toward Lhdibate across the Draa Valley. Observe the fossilised tamarisk forest and animal tracks. Tea break followed by lunch under a tamarisk at Erg Aït Ounnir. Continue to Erg Bo Rabra. Meet camels at the well. Final bivouac in this remote setting.
• Day 5Last magical sunrise. Cross the desert landscapes one final time. Return to the fixed bivouac. Breakfast, then transfer toward Marrakech by private vehicle. Arrive in Marrakech in the late evening, rich with unforgettable memories.

How Your Trip Works

We pick you up from your chosen city — Marrakech, Ouarzazate, or Zagora — and take care of everything from there. Your luggage travels by camel so you can walk freely and enjoy every moment.

Nights are spent in nomadic bivouacs sheltered between the dunes. Sleep under a blanket of stars or inside a traditional tent — your choice, every night.

All meals are freshly prepared by your guide team using local ingredients: think Saharan bread baked in the sand, tajines, and endless mint tea around the fire.
