The Journey

Seven days. Six nights. One unforgettable crossing. This expedition takes you from the gates of the Sahara deep into its most secret territories — Erg Zahar, Erg Aït Ounnir, the Douibe dunes — following routes known only to our guides.

Walk alongside dromedaries, sleep under stars of impossible brightness, share meals with nomadic families, and let the desert reshape everything you thought you knew about silence and space.

Day by Day Program

• Day 1Depart Marrakech at 7:30 AM by private minibus toward M'Hamid El Ghizlane. Cross the High Atlas via the Tizi n'Tichka pass. Pass through Ouarzazate and the Draa Valley with its ancient kasbahs and lush palm groves. Arrive at M'Hamid in the late afternoon. Meet the nomad team. First night in the fixed bivouac.
• Day 2Wake to the golden silence of the desert. Breakfast, then begin the trek with the camel caravan toward the Sidi Naji marabout. First steps through dunes and tamarisks bathed in light. Lunch in the shade of trees. Bivouac set up in the wilderness. Evening dune climb to watch the sky ignite. Night around the fire with traditional songs.
• Day 3Head toward Erg Zahar, known as the 'howling dunes' for the wind's song in the sand. Tamarisks grow sparser, dunes grow taller and more spectacular. Camp set deep in the heart of the erg. Climb to the summit for an unforgettable sunset over the undulating horizon. Dinner and night in bivouac.
• Day 4After breakfast, trek toward an ancient well where the camels drink. Cross a dry section of the Draa Valley with strikingly contrasting landscapes. Bivouac set up among the dunes of Erg Aït Ounnir. Lunch under a tamarisk. Free afternoon for rest, walking or contemplation. Sunset, tea and music around the fire.
• Day 5Walk through dunes and tamarisks typical of the Draa Valley. The wild bivouac is set near a large tamarisk. Lunch, rest, then preparation of sand-baked bread for dinner. Night under a sky of astonishing purity.
• Day 6Final day of trekking with a beautiful dune crossing. Lunch break, then rejoin the fixed bivouac near M'Hamid. Showers available, time to rest. Festive farewell dinner with stories around the fire. Last night in the heart of the desert.
• Day 7After breakfast, departure toward Marrakech. Stop at Tamegroute village, famous for its Quranic library and unique green pottery. Time for last purchases: spices, argan oil, artisan souvenirs. Lunch on the road. Arrive in Marrakech in the late evening, at your hotel or airport.

How Your Trip Works

We pick you up from your chosen city — Marrakech, Ouarzazate, or Zagora — and take care of everything from there. Your luggage travels by camel so you can walk freely and enjoy every moment.

Nights are spent in nomadic bivouacs sheltered between the dunes. Sleep under a blanket of stars or inside a traditional tent — your choice, every night.

All meals are freshly prepared by your guide team using local ingredients: think Saharan bread baked in the sand, tajines, and endless mint tea around the fire.
